The mansion called to me repeatedly—I believed it needed my help, only to discover that I was the one who required the guidance of the spirits within. THE INHUMANITY OF MAN: THE HATTIE MCCLOUD MURDER
October 4, 2016
Hattie McCloud, a young widow, was returning home from her errands, likely lost in thoughts of her beloved nine-year-old daughter. But her quiet journey took a tragic turn when a hand seized her throat from behind, dragging her into the dark woods—an attack so overpowering that she never returned to the warmth of her home.

A 26-year-old man was soon arrested for the crime. After a trial conducted by a jury of his peers, he was found guilty and sentenced to death. Yet, following his execution, doubts began to surface about whether he was truly responsible for the heinous act that stole Hattie's life.

This book delves into the wrenching tales of two young individuals from Buckland, Massachusetts. One was brutally raped, murdered, and robbed, while the other may have been unjustly caught in the relentless pursuit of justice.

BLUDGEONED: THE REED DOUBLE HOMICIDE
October 4, 2016
On August 7, 1897, two bodies were discovered in a cramped, cluttered home on a quiet lane in North Adams, Massachusetts.

Henry Reed was asleep in his bed until a brutal blow from a carpenter’s mallet ended his life. A gun, recovered from under his pillow, was later identified as the weapon used to murder his sister, Blanche.

The investigation quickly became a labyrinth of conflicting motives, with a wide array of potential suspects. It took three long years before anyone was arrested, and even then, a grand jury chose not to indict the accused.

In a dramatic twist, a determined detective grew convinced he had finally solved the baffling mystery—only to fall gravely ill and pass away. On his deathbed, he named the killers, leaving those present in shock. With his passing, the investigation came to an abrupt halt, and the case remains unsolved to this day.
